The Alfa Romeo Spider launched in 1966, with a re-design (series 2) in 1970. This second series continued to evolve, gaining a larger 1962cc twin cam I4 engine in 1971 (now named the 2000 Spider Veloce), and a 2+2 seating arrangement in 1975. This good looking example was registered in August 1977.
Austin Allegro estate. The 3-door estate version of the Austin Allegro was launched in April 1975 - but this example is a second-series Allegro 2 built in 1977 and registered in January 1978. 1275cc (1.3L A-Series I4 engine).
1960s and 1970s Daimler cars were, to a greater or lesser extent, rebadged Jaguars, typically more highly appointed for a superior level of luxury. Initially these were equipped with a Daimler engine (for example the Daimler 250), but the Sovereign was all-Jaguar. The series 2 Daimler Sovereign, produced from 1973-79 was effectively an extra-flash Jaguar XJ6. But the car pictured here is a variant of the typical 4-door series 2 Sovereign saloon - a 2-door coupé with a 4.2L (4235cc) engine - only available 1975-78. This one was registered in September 1977. Fantastic looking car!
Very nice mark 2 two-door Ford Escort RS2000. The high performance RS2000 had a 2 litre Pinto engine.
Very striking Porsche Carrera 3.0. This particular 911 variant was only produced between 1976 and 1977, with just 3687 cars completed in this time. This left-hand drive example was first registered in January 1977. 3299cc
I walked past this S reg (1977/78) 'Roadrunner' Reliant Scimitar regularly over a period of many years - always admiring it's quirky backend. The precise model designation is Scimitar GTE SE6A, actually one of the more abundant variants with (according to Wikipedia) 3877 SE6As produced. '76/77 was the first year of the SE6A (only running until 1980), and the first for the Celtic Brown finish. Have a look at some of the original Reliant finish charts here
The Dolomite was available from 1972 and until 1980 - the Sprint was the luxury high performance version was added to the line in '73, with vinyl roof and two litre (1998cc) petrol engine - this fine condition '76 example is in Russet Brown with Chestnut cloth interior.
Very nice baywindow (T2) Westie bus, with suitably 70s colour scheme: sage green (L63H) and pastel white (L90D). The black and white front bumper, pop up top and chromed hubs with white wall tyres complete the look.
Very funky artic lime transporter van - UK registered S-reg (1977/78) with Westfalia pop-up roof - but a left hand drive import. Note the deep front bumper and boxed-in spare wheel. A vehicle produced towards the end of the T2 / bay window era.
