The Austin Apache was another vehicle designed by Giovanni Michelotti, but based on the Austin 1100 / Morris 1100 (i.e. part of the ADO16 group of vehicles first built in 1962). It was built by Leykor for the South African market, with almost 22,000 examples sold between 1971 and 1978. It was only available as a 4-door saloon, with a 1275cc petrol engine. It was actually the last of all the ADO16 variants in production. This beautifully restored example was imported into the United Kingdom in 1985.
Lancia Fulvia (tipo 818) production ran from 1963-1976 making this example one of the last produced. It was available as a 4-door saloon (Berlina), a 2+2 2-door coupé (as seen here) and the Fulvia Sport designed by Zagato. Naturally the car evolved over the production period, with the Fulvia Coupé 3 introduced in 1974. Actually, a variant of this car, the Safari (celebrating the Lancia Fulvia's performance in the Safari Rally, Kenya) was produced at the same time - slimmed down with matte black exterior trim, no bumpers and Safari badges on the bonnet and boot. With no bumpers this could be a Fulvia Safari, but with missing badges it could also be a regular Lancia Fulvia with no bumpers! This car was registered in August of 1976, and is equipped with a 1298cc Lancia V4 engine.
The Leyland van (Austin Morris) was first produced in 1974, before being named the Leyland Sherpa in 1975.This mid-seventies Sherpa has had a pop-up roof fitted, and a 1798cc petrol engine. Roll on the holidays!
The Triumph Stag was manufactured between 1970 and 1977, with 25,939 Stags completed. There were some minor changes over the course of production, and this example, being registered in April 1976 can be considered a late mark II Stag. Great looking convertible, in white, with Tobacco brown upholstery. 2997cc petrol engine.
1976 Vanden Plas 1500 in Damsk Red. This is a second series 1500, equivalent to the Austin Allegro 2, but with an upgraded interior, larger front grille with bonnet to match. Fitted with a 1.5L (1485 cc) E-Series I4 engine. Registered August 1976.
The Vauxhall Cavalier mk1 launched in very late 1975 taking design elements from the Opel Ascona and Opel Manta. It was initially built exclusively at the Antwerp Opel plant (Belgium), though by Summer of 1977 also in Luton, UK. This example, registered in the UK in June 1976 is a European import model. The Cavalier came in a range of body styles: Saloon, coupé and hatchback; and this is a great example of the 4-door saloon. 1896cc Opel CIH I4 engine. Great looking classic Vauxhall!
