The Morris Minor is another classic British auto, designed by Alec Issigonis (see also
Mini,
ADO16 etc), available between 1948 and 1972. There were three main phases of production, with the Morris Minor 1000 debuting in 1953. The wood framed estate version was named 'Minor 1000 Traveller'. In 1962, the Minor was given a slightly larger 1098cc engine. The chassis of this car was built in Cowley, Oxfordshire; the body in Coventry, with final assembly taking place at the MG plant in Abingdon (also Oxfordshire). This vehicle was first registered in February 1967, is a fairly late example of a very long running design.
